  Food service waste is the single largest contributor to our landfill system. That means we have a tremendous opportunity and responsibility to make positive change. From the kitchen to the front of the house, we are working towards minimizing waste and over production.
  

• Food Sourcing
  We support local businesses and communities by purchasing from local producers and growers. Kent State University Dining Services buys fresh dairy products from local and regional farmers.

• Re-usable Mugs for Kent state University
  Re-usable Mugs designed by Kent State University students are  available for purchase at all dining locations for only $6.99.  Re-fills are only $ .99 for all hot and cold drinks.  Purchase a re-usable mug and your first drink is on us!

Kent State University Dining Services actively seeks to promote ecological sustainability by providing EnviroWare™ disposable china and flatware to its students for carry-out service or when traditional dinning ware is not available. EnviroWare™ , from Dispoz-o Products™, are 100% biodegradable plastic cutlery and foam products, made with green2technology and formulated to interact with micro-organisms that are present in standard landfills, composting landfills and in the natural environment.
